This is the time of year when many of us set New Year’s resolutions or goals. It’s also a time when most businesses have their business plans and budget forecasts in place. This is an excellent place to start; however, I like to go beyond typical business planning to a more spiritual level of goal setting.
Over the years, I’ve shifted from the black and white world of accounting to a more spiritual outlook on life where I still believe in setting goals, but in a different way. I still prepare an annual plan, but I now use the power of intention to manifest these goals. Trust in the power of manifestation. Believe that when you set clear intentions, things will come to be.
Success is nothing more than a decision away. What do you choose and what do you decide? Remember, you create everything in your life and you get what you think about most of the time. If you have negative thoughts or doubts about achieving your goals, this is what will come to be. If on the other hand, you can maintain a positive belief that you goals will come to be, they will.
The best way to define your goal is by a feeling. Write down your goals, close your eyes, and FEEL what it will be like to achieve your 2013 goals. Imagine the life of your dreams. What are some of the goals that you will achieve to live this life? See yourself as having achieved these goals and imagine how you’ll feel. You should be giddy with excitement and let this energy carry you through the day. Let the universe know that these are your goals, set the intention, and then let go of the HOW. It’s not up to us to know HOW it will happen; it’s merely up to us to BELIEVE it will.
Some of you may already be thinking “That’s easier said than done.” What about those days when things just aren’t going your way? How do you handle these disappointments? First off, ask yourself “Why did this happen?” When you accept that you create everything in your life, you’ll realize that you caused this situation and need to change your vibration. Secondly ask yourself “Why am I feeling bad?” You can instantly change your vibrational frequency by saying “Wow, something even better is about to happen.”
The easiest way to raise your vibrational frequency is to express love and gratitude in your life. Wake up every morning and say “What am I grateful for?” Keep a journal and write down at least three things every day. Once a month, take some time to go over your journal and realize how truly blessed you are with all that you have to be grateful for. When you put out a vibration of appreciation and gratitude for how loved, lucky, and blessed you feel, the universe will send you more of the same vibration.
What are you grateful for? I’d love your feedback. And don’t forget to leave a link back to your own blog too, via the commentluv feature here on the site.

You’re right, Dagmar. The two best things anyone can do for themselves are gratitude and forgiveness. Be grateful for everything … for the thousands of people who made it possible for us to read these posts, the investors, the technicians, the creative and thoughtful types .. and that’s just a beginning. Look around you and be grateful. The other aspect, forgiveness is also an inside job because if you don’t forgive you are (to quote Nelson Mandella) drinking a glass of poison and expecting your enemies to die.
Hello Barry, very well said! Love and gratitude are the two strongest emotions, yet if we can’t forgive, how strong will they truly be? When I teach meditation classes, I often tell my students that they are to imagine themselves as a large bowl for fruit. Imagine that this bowl still has a rotting peach in the bottom. Wouldn’t you first remove the rotten peach and wash the bowl before putting fresh fruit into the bowl? The same is true of love and gratitude. Learn to forgive others and forgive yourself. When you can love yourself, you can share your love and gratitude for all.
With love and gratitude,
Dagmar
I like that imagery. Very appropriate.
Thank you Barry. Since I’m quite visual myself, I always like to find images that will help to convey my message.
